The 2018 Football World Cup is starting from 14th June in Russia this year. The matches will continue for the whole month and the final match will be held on 15th July.  These matches will be played in 11 cities of European Russia in total 12 stadiums. #1. Moscow – Luzhniki Stadium – Capacity: 81,000

This is the national stadium of Russia with total seating capacity of 81000 at one time. This makes it the largest Football stadium of Russia and the one the biggest stadium of whole Europe. This stadium was used famous for 1980 Olympics games, hosting opening and closing ceremony.

#2. Moscow – Otkrytiye Arena (Spartak Stadium) – Capacity: 45,360

Otkrytiye Arena stadium is a multipurpose stadium of Moscow. It is majorly used for the Football matches. In 2017 it has hosted 4 matches of 2017 FIFA Confederation Cup & it is scheduled to host 5 matches of FIFA World Cup on June 16, 19, 23, 27 & July 3rd. It is also known as Spartak Stadium. #3. Krestovsky Stadium – (Saint Petersburg Stadium) – Capacity: 68,134

It is a retractable roof stadium. The build cost of this stadium is $ 1.1 Billion which makes this stadium as the costliest stadium built ever on planet earth. Initially it was planned to be opened in 2008, but to delay and over budget, it was finally opened in 2017 for FIFA Confederation cup where it holds total 4 matches. #4. Kaliningrad Stadium Capacity – 35,212 (New Stadium)

It is also called Arena Baltika. It has some retractable roof system. It is considered as the most secured stadium as it is equipped with ultramodern security systems and CCTVs. #5. Kazan Arena Stadium – Capacity: 45,379

This is situated in Kazan Russia. It was officially opened in 2013. It was majorly used for the purpose of football matches, In 2017 it has hosted 4 matches of 2017 FIFA Confederation Cup & it is scheduled to host 5 matches of FIFA World Cup on June 16, 20, 24, 27, 30 & July 6th. #6. Nizhny Novgorod Stadium – Capacity: 44,899 (New Stadium)

It is to be opened first time for 2018 FIFA world cup where it is scheduled to hold matches on June 18, 21, 24, 27, July 1 & 6th.  The projected total area of this stadium is 127500 m2. Below is one of the pic of stadium:

#7. Cosmos Arena – Capacity: 44,918 (New Stadium)

This is a brand new stadium specially built for FIFA World Cup 2018. This is situated in SAMARA Russia. In future it will be called Samara Arena, It is scheduled to host FIFA World Cup Matches in June 17, 21, 25, 28, July 2 & 7. Below is one of the pic of Stadium:

#8. Volgograd Arena – Capacity: 45,568 (Rebuilt)

This stadium is rebuilt specially for the purpose of FIFA World Cup 2018. It is Situated in Volgograd Russia. It is scheduled to host FIFA World Cup Matches in June 18, 22, 25 & 28. Below is one of the pic of Stadium:

#9. Mordovia Arena – Capacity: 44,442 (New Stadium)

#10. Rostov Arena – Capacity: 45,000 (New Stadium)

It is situated in Rostov-on-Dov, Russia. This is a brand new stadium specially build for FIFA World Cup 2018. Its construction is planned to be completed in March 2018. It is scheduled to host FIFA World Cup Matches in June 17, 20, 23, 26 & July 2nd. Below is one of the pic of Stadium:

#11. Fisht Olympic Stadium (Fisht Stadium) – Capacity: 47,659

It is situated in Sochi, Russia. It is officially opened in 2014 for Olympics Winter Games & Paralympics. It has hosted the opening & closing ceremony of these games. #12. Central Stadium (Ekaterinburg Arena) – Capacity: 35,696 (Upgraded)

This is a multi purpose stadium. It is upgraded specially for FIFA World Cup 2018. Now its seating capcity is approx. 36000 which will be reduced to 23000 after this world cup. This venue is situated in most eastern area amongst all the venues of FIFA World Cup 2018. This makes it as the only venue situated in Asian Russia amongst all venues of World Cup.
